How to cook steak?
Buy a good quality Irish steak from your butchers. Rib-eye, sirloin or striploin are flavoursome cuts of meat. Before cooking, remove steak from the fridge and bring to room temperature.
Season the steak well with cracked black pepper, sea salt and some chopped O’Hanlon Herbs Rosemary. Allow to marinade if you have 20 minutes to spare.
Take a good quality heavy skillet or frying pan.
Heat the pan to a high heat. Add a knob of butter or small dash of oil to ensure the meat will not stick to the pan.
Place the steak on the pan. Do not move the steak for 1 minute, allow to seal. Use a tongs to turn the steak, seal for a further 1 minute.
Reduce the heat to a low heat, turning every minute.
For rare, turn once on each side after sealing
For medium rare, turn twice on each side after sealing
For medium, turn three times on each side after sealing
For well done, turn four times on each side after sealing.
Gently heat the Insanely Good Pepper Sauce in a small saucepan..When the sauce begins to bubble remove from heat…..Serve with homemade fries or salad.
