Family-run Keogh’s farm is taking to the skies in an exciting new distribution deal

Keogh’s Crisps has struck a major deal with Emirates Airlines that will see the crisp brand served on the airline’s flights. The deal was many to come out of Bord Bia’s Marketplace 2018 networking event at Dublin’s RDS.

One million packets of Keogh’s Crisps will soon be served on Emirates flights around the world, in a deal struck between the two brands at Bord Bia’s Marketplace 2018 networking event in Dublin this week. Hundreds of buyers from around the world were in Dublin to take part in a sort of “speed dating” for brands.

According to Bord Bia, which organised the event, said it was the largest of its kind ever to take place in Ireland, the Irish Times reports.

“Initiatives such as Marketplace have enabled the sustained growth of Irish food and drink exports for the past eight years,” Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy said, “culminating in a record value of €12.6bn in 2017.”

As well as the one-to-one sitdowns, Irish brands had the opportunity to pitch to some of the buyers, who came to town with an estimated €40m to spend. Prior to the event in Dublin’s RDS on Thursday, they had spent time touring facilities around Ireland to see first-hand how the products are made. They visited farms, fisheries, whiskey distilleries and much more.

The event was put together by a special team within Bord Bia, and was hailed a success by all involved. Watch this space for more high profile deals as they are followed up.
