margaret-farrelly

Margaret Farrelly began selling free range eggs in the early 1980s to supplement income from her husband Leo’s small farm on the Cavan-Meath border. Clonarn Clover started with 150 free range hens. Today the business has a free range flock of 160,000 hens and produces and packs 48 million eggs a year. Margaret launched a new brand, Margaret’s, which includes traditional free range eggs, plus pasteurized liquid egg products for cooking and baking. The business employs 32 people.

” Margaret’s is a family company who loves food, friends, and farms. Fifteen generations of family have produced eggs on our farm, supplying firstly neighbours and later local shops. Today we still sell our fresh eggs straight from our family farm as well as through major national retailers, delicious Margaret’s Eggs for breakfast, lunch or dinner, a quick snack or an amazingly indulgent treat. Find us in your local store and discover our especially delicious, nutritious and incredibly versatile Margaret’s Eggs

At Margaret’s we produce free-range eggs – the right way. We’re a passionate family of farmers who live and breathe what we do. The joy and satisfaction we feel from looking after our hens and caring for the land is what inspires us.”
