"When I lived in East Hampton for a summer we used to count down
the days to our next care package full of Irish food, Tayto was
always the biggest hit!"
Emma,
Cork
"I love Irish food so much that every holiday I go on, the first
thing I do is scope out the place to find the nearest Irish pub or
restaurant just for a bowl of stew! There is no food as comforting
or familiar as a bowl of Irish stew."
Catherine,
Limerick
"I can remember years ago when I was in South Carolina on my J1,
it was roasting hot all summer. The thought of having a hot dinner
or a cuppa tea after work didn't spring to mind once. Then near the
end of the summer a friend came to visit from home and brought with
her all the ingredients for an Irish fry and a box of Barry's tea.
I don't think I have ever had a fry as nice as that one, it was
just so comforting and you really do remember how good the Irish
food really is.
I had a cup of Barry's tea nearly every day after that with a
muffin even though it was roasting outside and we had no kettle (we
boiled a pot of water). It reminded me of all the food you could
get back home, I couldn't wait to get my hands into some Tayto
crisps and Cadbury's chocolate!"
Ciara,
Castleknock
"As a child I used to love making ice-pops from Miwadi and
enjoying them in front of my envious friends, particularly after a
game of chasing!"
Clair,
Meath
"As a child on my first French exchange trip I missed home food so
much I used to cry every night. Eventually my mum took pity on me
and sent me a box of Irish bread, crisps, and some trusty
Ballymaloe relish!"

Celbridge
