In 1938 Tea Time Express bakery was established by the Arigho
family in heart of James Joyce's Dublin at Ushers Quay. Initially
the home baked cakes were delivered door-to-door throughout the
city of Dublin using bicycles with sidecars.
This familiar sight of delivery boys whizzing round the streets
became affectionately known as the 'Tea Time Express'. Soon
afterwards to meet rising demand the company opened it's famous
shop at 51b Dawson Street.
In recent years, Tea Time Express has found a new home in the
village of Chapelizod on the banks of the river Liffey not far from
where it began over 70 years ago.
The founders were determined to produce the best Quality
Handmade Confectionery in Ireland. This obsession with 'Quality'
remains central by promoting innovation and excellence within the
organisation.
Using the original recipes and adopting traditional baking
methods, all our produce is TRULY HANDMADE.
Our mouth-watering range of cakes are available nationwide and
more recently in the USA where our dedicated customer following
continues to grow.
Today Tea Time Express is still perceived by most discerning
consumers of cake confectionery as 'the premier brand'
