2007 was the first year that any Irish company won in the prestigious and largest Black Pudding competition in Europe. That year the Gold medal went to Rosscarbery Black Pudding, just 3 months after launch date. In the intervening years, the Rosscarbery Black Pudding has won on other occasions, but this year it’s the turn of Rosscarbery Gluten Free Black Pudding to win Gold. We launched in Autumn. William took the Rosscarbery Gluten Free Pudding, Black and White, to the SuperValu Food Academy and it may be found in many stores in Cork and Kerry, as well as Ardkeen Stores, Waterford, and Avoca stores in Dublin, S.V. Mt. Merrion.
The Liberty Grill, Washington St., Cork, is the only restaurant using Rosscarbery Gluten Free Black Pudding exclusively although many other hotels/restaurants use it for their coeliac guests including Hayfield Manor, Celtic Ross Hotel, West Cork Hotel, Castlemartyr Resort; and Ballymaloe House.
The Rosscarbery Gluten Free Pudding is included in the Coeliac Food List.
We are a family business as both sons, William (2014) and Maurice (2016) joined the business on a full-time basis following completion of their Leaving Certificates and we currently have just two more employees.
