What is Love Irish Food?
Love Irish Food is the new initiative under which the Irish Food and Drink Industry have come together to promote Irish Food and Drink Brands.
The Love Irish Food campaign and logo is intended to be a powerful and positive signpost by which shoppers can identify Irish manufactured food and drink brands.

Our symbol assures consumers of the Irish credentials of participating member brands as a result of strict membership criteria which ensures that over 80% of the brand is manufactured in the Republic Of Ireland.

Who is involved in Love Irish Food?
Some of Ireland's best known and most loved food and drinks brands are included in this initiative and other brands will join as the campaign gains momentum. Click here to see all the brands involved.

How did the Love Irish Food initiative come about?
The participating member brands made the decision to commit to this industry initiative with the single minded ambition of promoting Irish food and drink brands to consumers. This will be achieved through the distinct Love Irish Food logo that will have a presence on-pack and in point of sale in the retail environment to assist consumers identify Irish manufactured products from imported alternatives.

What is the difference between the Love Irish Food symbol and other Irish symbols?
Love Irish Food is dedicated specifically to Irish food and drink brands. The symbol indicates that a food and drink product is manufactured in the Republic of Ireland, using available Irish ingredients. The symbol will provide reassurance to Irish consumers seeking to purchase Irish products.

What are the exact criteria for participation and how do brands qualify?
Love Irish Food has set out very strict criteria for membership based on consumer expectations of what constitutes an Irish brand.

  • A brand qualifies to become a member of Love Irish Food (LIF) if they manufacture in ROI (minimum of 80% of the brand must be made in ROI)
  • They must use ingredients were possible from ROI. In cases where Ireland simply does not grow the ingredients (tealeaves or cocoa beans), the member brand must be primarily derived from Irish manufacturing processes
  • Retailer own label brands are excluded from membership

How can the public get involved?
We are encouraging shoppers to reconnect with these much-loved brands under our campaign slogan "One more makes all the difference" whereby you are encouraged to purchase just one more Irish brand in your weekly shopping. Our information campaign is aimed at reminding consumers of the heritage and quality of these trusted Irish brands. We will also be offering fantastic in-store promotions across retailers nationwide.
