Shellfish De La Mer’s strategy for growth is based on a long-term commitment to product quality and customer service. Our aim is to become Ireland’s leading Seafood Processor in the Domestic market.

Shellfish De La Mer was founded in 1987 by two local fishermen from the large fishing port of Castletownbere, located on the scenic South West coast of Ireland. Drawing from some of the richest and purest fishing grounds in Europe, namely the Atlantic Ocean, we have achieved a reputation for quality and service, which we strive to maintain at all times.

Our customers demand timely delivery of premium fresh quality products and we guarantee this by our own flexible distribution network and our ability to react and respond to our customers’ changing needs.

100% traceability

Shellfish De La Mer can assure 100% traceability for all our products from the fresh waters of the Atlantic to the customer’s plate. We guarantee this by ownership and control of our fishing fleet, a BRC accredited production facility and transport network.

We receive daily supplies from our own modern fishing fleet, consisting of five large fishing vessels. This fleet harvests premium quality seafood from the cold water of the Atlantic, just off the shores of Castletownbere. This enables us to process the catch within the shortest possible time and ensures product quality that surpasses many of our competitors in the market place.
