Hodgins Sausages

Hodgins Sausages is a family run business based in Mitchelstown Co. Cork. Run by craft butcher Mervin and his wife Monica, Hodgins employs over 30 people in their new purpose built factory outside Mitchelstown. Their ethos is all about a passion to create great tasting sausages and puddings using only 100% Irish pork.

Mervin Hodgins began making sausages based on an old recipe, while respecting craft and tradition, modern flavours and tastes are very much a part of his range. Hodgins have won many Great Taste gold medal awards for their sausages and puddings.

Commitment to Quality

Hodgins has made its way from a small local butcher to successful national brand, breaking into a highly competitive market dominated by very big players. “I think it all goes back to quality” states Mervin, “Now more than ever, people want to know where their food is coming from – our products are made from choice pork cuts, and have an exceptionally high meat content. Even as we grow I am adamant that we do not compromise one inch on quality. It is these values that ensure we stay true to ourselves and the Mitchelstown tradition.”

Special Dietary Needs Catered For

The Hodgins range is constantly expanding and now includes a great tasting range of Gluten Free puddings and sausages, registered by the Coeliac Society of Ireland, as well as a delicious Low Fat sausage, ideal for weight conscious consumers. In addition to the traditional sausage, with cocktail and jumbo varieties, the range includes garlic, herb, and BBQ sausages. Try them yourself and taste the difference!
