Welcome to Love Irish Food

Jim PowerLove Irish Food is a new organisation established by almost 30 of Ireland's leading food and drink manufacturers with the sole aim of promoting Irish manufactured food and drink brands to consumers.

Many consumers are confused as to what constitutes an Irish brand. Our goal is to raise awareness of what constitutes an Irish product, and thereby help consumers make informed choices when making a purchase.

We are undertaking an extensive public awareness campaign under the theme "One more makes all the difference" to drive a change in consumer thinking and buying patterns by demonstrating to consumers the impact of adding one more Irish brand to their grocery shopping.

Central to our campaign is a new logo that will symbolise what Love Irish Food stands for. Irish consumers expect Irish brands to be manufactured in Ireland using Irish ingredients, where possible. The Love Irish Food logo is an absolute assurance to consumers that the brand carrying this symbol adheres to this strict criteria and is indeed, above all else, a truly Irish brand. Love Irish Food also symbolises everything we have come to expect from our trusted Irish brands - quality, values, heritage and value for money.

A considerable body of research shows that Irish consumers have a strong sense of pride in Irish brands and have expressed a desire to support Irish brands. Love Irish Food is seeking to harness this commitment to create a sustainable environment for food and drink manufacturing in Ireland.

The food and drinks industry plays a key role in the Irish economy and I believe that it will have a central role to play in the medium-term recovery prospects for the economy. It is Ireland's largest indigenous industry, and is responsible for the direct and indirect employment of over 230,000 workers and must be given as much support as possible.

The Love Irish Food campaign looks forward to playing its part in safeguarding the future of this vital industry.
